Yummy House is as close as you can get to a sit
down chinese restaurant in NYC.
They serve szechwan and cantonese favorites.
We came for dinner twice, both on a Sunday night.
The staff were all friendly and provided good
service.
We tried the wonton soup, bbq ribs, salt & pepper fried calamari, egg rolls, pork fried rice, honey shrimp, and roast pork with chinese
vegetables. The food is very good.
The wonton soup comes in a large
serving bowl and is enough for three to share.
The entrees and rice are also large enough for three
to share. The ribs are cut up, like rib let's., enough for two. But I am not sure if they are worth the price. The calamari was excellent, enough for four to share.
They serve a tea pot of hot black tea,
just like in NY. The only item missing are fried
noodles with duck sauce that are a complementary mainstay in NYC.
The restaurant has plenty of seating. There were
several large round tables seating 8-10.
I highly recommend this restaurant. -

Food is fine. My annoyance is a Kenny G jazz horn blazing in my ear while I eat Dim Sum. Shouldn't the intercom music match the region of the food or do they think its their way of catering to The masses? Very annoy
Back again ( September 2019) & this time Celine is blasting in our ears. Just slip in an Asian tune PLEASE!! -

Absolutely loved the food I had here. It was delicious, fresh, and overall enjoyable. This place is great for big groups but a dinner would your significant other is great too. They have so many options, it was hard to pick but I chose the Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodle, an order of chicken wings, an order of spring rolls, and Beef Fried Rice. The portions were enormous with great presentation. It was very hot but fresh! Nothing was over salted, greasy, or dry. I can't wait to come back honestly. I haven't been to a Chinese restaurant that has wowed me.
The waitress was super attentive and friendly. While it was busy, it did not feel like it was affecting the experience. As I had mentioned before, it's great for large parties but don't let that stop you from trying their food. -

After searching Yelp for a delicious Chinese Restaurant we came across this Yummy restaurant! It had rave reviews on Yelp so we were all for giving it a try. This was our first time going and my hubby made reservations thru Yelp which was super convenient!! We also received a text confirming our dinner reservation.
When we arrived we gave our name and were immediately seated. I found the restaurant to be very large and very clean. As you walk in there is a very large, very nice counter where the hostess are. I noticed there were many tables available to accommodate large groups. These large tables had a lazy Susan in the middle to make sharing and family style very easy for large groups of people. We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was very busy.
After we were seated our server and an assistant came over immediately. Having never been here we had some questions. Our waitress as well as her assistant were very friendly and very helpful. The waitress informed us that the portions were large and we did find them to be generous in size.
The menu was several pages. I believe I saw one page dedicated just for rice! I do believe I also saw a menu with some specials on the table as well.
To start with My husband and I ordered a pot of Chinese Tea. For appetizers we ordered Egg Rolls which are skinny and come 4 to an order. We also ordered spare ribs but they ran out of them (why I deducted 1 Star). We ordered Wonton Soup which was huge and clearly enough for more than two people. It was delicious and we had no problem finishing it! For our dinner we ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp, Roast Pork with Chinese Vegetables and Roast Pork Fried Rice. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious!
Our waitress as well as her assistant were extremely attentive. We both enjoyed our dinner and we will enjoy our leftovers too.
This was definitely the best Chinese Restaurant we have been to since moving to this coast two years ago!
Now for the Dim Sum, which I'm still confused about how this all works. I asked our waitress and I THINK she said this:
* On the "weekends" ONLY FOR LUNCH a cart goes around with the Dim Sum and you can look and choose what you want.
* "During the week" ONLY FOR LUNCH, which starts at 11AM you can order Dim Sum off the menu.
Also, pork buns which I really wanted to try are only available at lunch?
We will definitely be returning to have lunch very soon. -

Located on Hillsborough Ave across from Sanwa Supermarket, Yummy House China Bistro stands out as a Chinese restaurant for it's modern decor and clean style of cuisine.
Note: If you've ever been to the original Yummy House on Waters Ave, this one is much finer than that location (fyi is closed down for good unfortunately). Don't expect cramp seating, laid back service, cheaper prices (3 for $22 Menu ), and fortune cookies at the end of your meal like it did there.
First impression is the modern decor and large host counter. We were seated right away at 5pm. The tables are round and if you have parties of 10+, you can opt for the tables with the lazy Susan in the center.
Their menu is extensive but with the help of TV monitors near the entrance way, it'll surely entice you to order at least one thing off of their elaborate photo reel. They have a specials menu that can help you fine tune your selections. We had a party of 6, so we agreed to do family style, which is traditionally order enough food for everyone to share. We ordered off of the specials menu. We went down to the basics: soup (Bistro Hot & Sour Seafood), fried (Salt & Pepper Calamari), spicy and savory (Spicy Hunan Beef & Spicy Szechuan Tofu), and starch (Everything Fried Rice).
Everything was delicious except I didn't expect the Spicy Szechuan Tofu to be fried. I'd have exchanged it for Mapo Tofu, which is steamed and succulent Tofu in a spicy/sweet/savory sauce. I liked that the server brought out the soup first and we all got to share it in small bowls. The rest of the entrees gradually came. The Everything fried rice was a hit because it had seafood, meat and veggies that paired well with everything we ate. Prices for each entree averaged about $12-$13, which is typical for a finer experience. Ask for the chili oil to spice things up a bit.
Service was attentive, but to a minimum. The server takes your orders, but someone else refills your waters. Before the server would leave our table, she wouldn't ask if we needed anything else. Once we had all of our food, we were fine. In the end, we were satiated and would come back again.
